Geotest is leader in the PXI market!

The PXI standard is based on the CompactPCI (cPCI) standard. While cPCI became the defracto standard in telecom applicatoin, it lacked some key features to become a choice platform in the test industry. With the introduction of PXI, the addition of features such as advanced triggering, made the upgraded cPCI an ideal platform for test application. However, since PXI was offered in a 3U form-factor only, the limited size of instruments prevented its use in most test applications. As a result, PXI is currently only being used in data acquisition and some small-scale ATE systems.
With the coming-of-age of the 6U PXI form factor and recognition form industry trendsetters such as GenRad, PXI is becoming a standard and ideal platform for all test applications. The 6U form factor provides the necessary 'real-estate' required by high-end test instruments such as sophisticated digital I/O and high density switching cards. As a result , PXI can now support high- end test applications and successfully compete with VXI and GPIB instrumentation.
